We should not confuse cannabidiol with cannabinoids. While cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most prevalent active ingredient of cannabis, cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. They are known for their ability to interact with receptors in different parts of the central nervous system, affecting the Endocannabinoid System, and these interactions have potentially and very interesting medical applications!
Our CBD is derived directly from the hemp plant (which is a cousin of the marijuana plant). By itself, according to a report from the World Health Organization, “CBD does not cause a high in humans, it exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
